Cal Hampton

Cal Hampton is the friend who never leaves the house. Rockstar introduced him on the official site with a question that doubles as a portrait: “What if everything on the internet was true?”. His evenings run on beer, a wall of anonymous browser tabs and the Coast Guard frequencies he monitors as a hobby. He is not a boss and he is not muscle: he is a couch conspiracist who has decided that sitting still is the safest plan available.

The relationship that matters is with Jason Duval: official materials describe them as friends, both orbiting Brian Heder, for whom Cal works as an associate. His home turf is the Leonida Keys, the same corner of Leonida where Jason scrapes by. Rockstar sums up the dynamic in a single line: Cal sits at America’s low tide and is happy there, while his friend Jason has bigger plans. It is the classic mismatch trouble grows from: one man wants to stay invisible, the other wants out.

For now Cal exists only on paper: his profile went up on the official site in May 2025, in the same window as Trailer 2, with a short bio and a second tagline about psychopaths running the show and getting used to it. We do not know whether he will be a mission-giver, a recurring contact or pure local color; his voice actor has not been announced, and nothing confirms how his scanner-and-forum paranoia will translate into gameplay.
