The question has been going round for months and the short answer is: no, a “Trailer 3” never came out, and in all likelihood it never will under that name. On August 27, 2026 something else arrived, something bigger, called An Extended Look.

This is not pedantry about names. The distinction says something about how Rockstar is running this campaign, and it is worth understanding before you go hunting for a video that does not exist.

Why it is not a trailer

A trailer runs two or three minutes, has a track holding it together and an edit aimed at one emotion. The Extended Look does none of that: it runs twenty-seven minutes, has no narrator and no host, and shows the game being played, including the parts no trailer would ever include, like opening the fridge at home or waiting while Lucia gets ready.

Where the “Trailer 3” idea came from

The numbering is the community’s, not Rockstar’s. After the December 2023 announcement trailer and the May 2025 second trailer, “Trailer 3” became the collective name for whatever came next.

An industry of dates grew around that name. The most cited came from leaker Tom Henderson, who pointed to August 6, 2026, tying it to Take-Two’s earnings call the following day. In fairness: Henderson never presented it as inside information, but as an estimate based on Rockstar’s communication habits. And it ended in a way worth recording, because it does not happen often: on August 6 Rockstar did announce something, but it was not a trailer, it was the Extended Look’s date. The prediction got the day right and the object wrong.

That is why this page, in its first version, urged caution about circulating dates. The method still holds: an announcement is real only when it appears on the GTA VI site, the Newswire or Rockstar’s verified profiles. Screenshots with no URL, countdowns Rockstar did not publish, and dates attributed to anonymous insiders are not enough.

Will there be another video before launch?

That said, some observation about the phase is fair, as long as it stays labelled for what it is. There are under three months to launch, preorders have been open since June, and the campaign has entered the stretch where it usually intensifies. Historically, between the last big drop and release, Rockstar has published smaller, targeted pieces: edition details, material on individual regions, images.

What has already been covered, and so is unlikely to be revisited, is the bulk of it, though it is worth splitting the two sources the way the rest of this page does. In the video: the Jason and Lucia swap, the robberies, the activities and the six-star bar. In the press previews: the wanted level as a system, which is a different thing from seeing the bar on screen. The questions still open are of a different kind, and they are not trailer material: the PC version, the future of GTA Online, storage requirements.
