Sony's new PS5 headset launches the same day as GTA 6: Pulse at $99.99
On November 19 GTA 6 is not the only thing coming to PS5. The same day Sony releases its new wireless headset, the PlayStation Pulse, at $99.99. If you were thinking of buying a headset for launch, here is what we know.
What it offers
The Pulse is the cheapest planar magnetic headset in the PS5 lineup, below the Pulse Elite. It connects to PS5 through the included PlayStation Link adapter, for lossless, low-latency audio, and switches between PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC and Mac. It supports simultaneous Bluetooth, has a mic with AI noise rejection and rotating earcups so it lies flat in a bag.
Some features are reserved for the Pulse Edge instead: active noise cancellation, the detachable boom mic, the 3.5 mm jack, the carrying case and game/chat balance.

Where GTA 6 comes in
Sony does not officially link the Pulse to GTA 6, and the shared date may just be a commercial choice: November 19 will be a very busy day in game stores. Some outlets present it as “the GTA 6 headset”, within the campaign that has PlayStation as the game’s marketing partner, but that is a reading, not an announcement.
One thing applies to any headset: in an open world full of traffic and sirens, hearing where sounds come from helps, but you do not need a particular model. If you are getting your setup ready for launch, the rest is in our guide on how to prepare for GTA 6.
