GTA 6 at 100%: what completing it will actually mean
GTA 6’s 100% checklist does not exist yet, and anyone showing you one is inventing it. But there is something you can know right now, and it is more useful than a list: in a Rockstar game, “100%” has never meant “do everything”. Understanding how it actually works changes how you approach November 19.
100% is not “everything”: both precedents say so
This is the counterintuitive part, and it holds for both of Rockstar’s last big games.
In GTA 5 completion asks for 161 entries, across five groups:
| Group | How many you need |
|---|---|
| Story missions | 69 |
| Hobbies and pastimes | 42 |
| Strangers and Freaks | 20 |
| Miscellaneous | 16 |
| Random events | 14 out of roughly 60 |
Look at the last row, then at the clauses almost nobody highlights: you need 14 random events out of about sixty, only Franklin’s Strangers and Freaks strands, only a bronze medal in the pastimes, and any five income-generating properties. On collectibles, the requirement is half, not all of them.
In Red Dead Redemption 2 the pattern repeats: five categories, 107 story missions, ninety tasks from the challenges, and a compendium asking you to discover 50 animals out of the 178 in the game. There too, any ten stranger strands will do, any five bounties, a single point of interest.
The practical consequence is large. Anyone chasing 100% by collecting everything does far more work than required, often without realising. Completion is a precise list, and shorter than it looks: the time is saved by knowing what you can skip.
Collectibles are the biggest time sink
In GTA 5 the two best-known groups are 50 spaceship parts and 50 letter scraps, scattered across Los Santos and Blaine County. They are the perfect example of the point above: 100% needs half of them, yet almost every guide presents them as lists to finish in full.
It is also why a map and a checklist genuinely help. Not to do everything: to know which half you are working on.
What to expect from GTA 6, and at what grade
None of the numbers above transfers to GTA 6 as a prediction. What can honestly be said:
One more thing is known, and it concerns trophies: in Red Dead Redemption 2, using a cheat disables trophies and blocks saving, and in GTA 5 it disables them for the session. If you are going for completion, cheats are something to keep out of the serious playthrough.
Our tracker, and what it actually does today
This calls for precision, because it is easy to promise more than exists.
The progress tracker already works: you tick, the total updates, progress stays on your device with no account and no server, and you can move it to another phone with a code or a QR. What is not there yet is real data: the map points and trophies currently listed are demonstration placeholders, badged as such, because GTA 6’s real list does not exist.
There is, however, a technical guarantee worth explaining, and it is why trying it now is not wasted time. Ticks are saved against each entry’s identifier, and the project holds a hard rule: a published identifier is never renamed or recycled. Adding entries is safe, renaming them is not, so we do not do it. It means that when the placeholders give way to real points at launch, whatever you ticked in the meantime stays where it is.
If you want the full picture of the run-up, the day one guide and the one on how big the game is cover timings, preloading and disk space.
In short
- GTA 6’s 100% list does not exist: Rockstar has published no collectibles, requirements or trophies.
- In both precedents, 100% does not require doing everything: GTA 5 asks for 161 entries with partial thresholds (14 random events out of ~60, half the collectibles, bronze medals only); RDR2 needs 50 animals out of 178.
- Collectibles are the biggest time sink, and the useful knowledge is which half counts.
- The checklist structure is likely in GTA 6 too, the numbers are not: anyone giving you those today invented them.
- Our tracker already works, but the listed points are demonstrations: identifiers are never renamed, so today’s ticks survive launch.
Frequently asked questions
How many collectibles does GTA 6 have?
It is not known. Rockstar has published no collectible list and no completion requirements. Any count you find today is guesswork or recycled from GTA 5’s numbers.
What does 100% require in a Rockstar game?
A categorised checklist, almost never a complete one. GTA 5 asks for 161 entries across missions, pastimes, Strangers and Freaks, random events and miscellaneous, and many carry partial thresholds: 14 random events out of about sixty, half the collectibles, bronze medals in the pastimes.
Do I need every collectible for 100%?
In GTA 5, no: you need half. Red Dead Redemption 2 follows the same principle, with a compendium asking for 50 animals out of the 178 in the game. Knowing what you can skip saves a lot of hours.
Can I already use leonidaguide’s tracker?
Yes, and it works: ticks save to your device and transfer with a code or a QR, no account needed. The points currently listed are demonstration placeholders, though, because GTA 6’s real list does not exist yet.
Will ticks made now be lost at launch?
No. Entry identifiers are never renamed or recycled, as a rule: when the placeholders are replaced by real points, whatever you ticked stays in place.
Do cheats block 100%?
In recent Rockstar games they cause serious problems: in Red Dead Redemption 2 they disable trophies and prevent saving, and in GTA 5 they disable them for the current session. For GTA 6 it is not confirmed yet, but it is the most likely precedent.
