GTA 6 Launch Trailer locations: where every scene is
The Launch Trailer crosses half of Leonida in ninety seconds, but the places with a name written on screen fit on one hand. The rest you recognize from the landscape: the swamp, the beach, the art deco hotels, the elevated line. This guide lists every location in the trailer and says, for each one, how we know: because there is a sign, because the official site says so, or because we or the press infer it.
The rule is the one in our Leonida geography guide: a sign is a business, not a place name, and a name that comes from leaked material does not get in. The scenes, in the order they appear, are covered in the trailer breakdown.
The Keys: the only place the trailer names
The first in-game image is a sign: “Welcome to The Keys”, painted with a heron, a shark and corals, along a road lined with palms and power lines. A pickup towing a jet ski drives past.

The welcome sign: it says “The Keys”, not “Leonida Keys”, which is the zone’s name on the official site. Launch Trailer frame © Rockstar Games.
It is the most solid fact in the whole trailer, and it adds a detail: the welcome is a road sign, meant to be read arriving by car. That fits the official Keys screenshot, where a road cuts across the sea from island to island like the Overseas Highway in the Florida Keys. Everyeye reads the name of an island, “Goose Key”, on another sign and sees a Top Gun nod: we could not find it legible in our frames, so it stays a report.
The Leonida Keys are one of the six official zones. The zone page tracks them on the map.
Brian’s Marina: Jason’s boatyard
Right after, an aerial view: a shed with the Brian’s Marina sign, racks full of boats and a “Rent a Rack” sign with a phone number. Behind it, the Keys sea with low islands and motorboat wakes.

That the boatyard is Brian Heder’s own the trailer does not say in words: we call it very likely, not confirmed. The dock with the moored seaplane, a few seconds later, has a long bridge and a distant skyline in the background: it is tempting to think Vice City is visible from there, but nothing proves it.

The mangroves and the swamp: almost certainly Grassrivers
Three armed men wade knee-deep through mangroves at sunset; later, what looks like an airboat speeds through a swamp. No signs.

The mangroves at sunset. SVG, Everyeye, VGTimes and Postmode all place them in the Grassrivers. Launch Trailer frame © Rockstar Games.
The Grassrivers are Leonida’s wetlands, “Welcome to the Wetlands” on the official page, and the airboat is the vehicle of the Everglades they are modeled on. The placement is the whole press’s reading, and it is consistent; but mangroves also grow along the Keys coastline, and the military scene could even be a memory of Jason’s from outside Leonida. We mark it as reported. The zone page tracks the swamp on the map.
Vice City: the city you recognize without reading it
The rest of the trailer is Vice City, and it needs no signs: the skyline, the Ferris wheel at sunset, the elevated train between buildings, the patrol cars marked “Police”. The official video description opens with “Vice City, USA” anyway. Inside the city, though, the exact places are readings.
The airport runway. A pickup races under an airliner wing, with the skyline at sunset in the background. Postmode assumes Vice City’s international airport; Rockstar has never named an airport.

The slide through the art deco hotels. Patrol cars sliding between palms, pedestrians and pastel facades. It matches the official description of Ocean Beach, “the pastel art deco hotels”, word for word, but no sign confirms it. Postmode reads a street name, Grape Street: we have not verified it.

The biplane beach. The pink biplane flies low over a packed beach, with towers right behind the sand. Postmode names it Vice Beach. Here too the landscape is enough to say “Vice City”, not the neighborhood.
Rooftops and building sites. Lucia on a terrace among the cranes at sunset, the street race between towers under green highway signs, the building with smashed windows under the helicopter searchlight: it is downtown Vice City, without a name.
Interiors with no address
The vault with its safe deposit boxes, the gym, the club with the dancer and the stage of the women in pink balaclavas have no clue to their position. The vault in particular is the image everyone would like to place, because it is the heart of the heist: the bank has no name and no facade, and anyone giving an address is making it up. The Vice City page collects the city’s places with an official name.
And out of town
Two scenes leave the city without saying where. The road through the woods with blue and red lights has an SUV marked “Sheriff”: county sheriffs, in the series, work outside the urban centers, and our geography guide covers the counties seen in earlier trailers. The container yard where Jason and Lucia lean on the red sports car suggests a port, and Vice City has an official one, the VC Port; but there is no sign, so it stays a hypothesis.

In short
- The only place named on screen is The Keys, on the welcome sign, and you reach it by car.
- Brian’s Marina is a boatyard in the Keys: the name is on the sign, the link to Brian Heder comes from his official bio.
- The mangroves are almost certainly the Grassrivers, but it is a reading.
- Vice City is recognizable from the landscape; the neighborhoods, Ocean Beach included, remain inferences.
- The vault has no clue to its position.
Frequently asked questions
Where is Brian’s Marina in GTA 6?
In the Leonida Keys: it appears right after the “Welcome to The Keys” sign, with the same landscape, and Brian Heder’s official bio places it there. The exact map position will be known at launch.
Does the Launch Trailer show the GTA 6 map?
No. There is no map or interface: places are recognized from signs and landscape. Our interactive map marks the six zones with an indicative position, awaiting the real data on November 19.
Which zone is the mangrove scene in?
Every outlet that broke it down puts it in the Grassrivers, the wetland zone modeled on the Everglades. It is plausible, but there is no sign in the trailer to confirm it.
