Search for a GTA 6 map with counties, towns and neighborhoods and you’ll find enormous lists: dozens of towns, islands and districts, each with a confident pin on the map. Then you open Rockstar’s own site, and the names that come with an address fit on one hand.

This guide lines up every Leonida place name in circulation and says, for each one, who actually wrote it. Size is not the subject here: that’s covered in how big the GTA 6 map is, and this page adds no numbers to it.

At a glance

  • Rockstar splits Leonida into six regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. They’re the only areas with an official page.
  • Inside Vice City, the official site names Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, Stockyard, Southside, the Tisha-Wocka flea market and the VC Port. It names no town or neighborhood in any other region.
  • Counties never appear in Rockstar’s text. They do show up on police vehicles in Trailer 1, though: Kelly County, Vice Dale and Leonard County.
  • Some official names still have no address: Watson Bay, Lake Leonida, Gambit Bay. We know they exist, not where they are.
  • Town names from leaks and fan-made maps stay out of our pages until Rockstar confirms them.

What goes where: what Rockstar actually says

Before the names, the layout. Rockstar hasn’t published a map, and the official copy contains exactly two geographic pointers:

  • Mount Kalaga is “a national landmark up against the state’s northern border”.
  • Ambrosia sits “in the heart of Leonida”.

Everything else is borrowed from real-world Florida: the Keys in the south because the Florida Keys are in the south, Port Gellhorn in the northwest because it echoes the Panhandle, Grassrivers between the city and the interior because that’s where the Everglades sit. It’s sound reasoning, and it’s what our interactive map is built on, but it’s still inference: the region positions on the map are approximate until people are actually playing.

Vice City: the neighborhoods with official names

The Vice City entry covers the city itself; this section is about the names. The official region copy packs four of them into a single sentence: “the pastel art deco hotels and bright white sands of Ocean Beach”, “the bustling panaderías of Little Cuba”, “the bootleg brands of the Tisha-Wocka flea market” and “the VC Port, the cruise ship capital of the world.”

More names come from the Ultimate Edition and pre-order listings, on Rockstar’s site and the console stores:

  • Stockyard: Stock 305 is “Stockyard’s premier destination for elevated streetwear”, and Electric Fang is “Stockyard’s most iconic ink bar”. Dazed’s piece, written with the Rockstar team, describes it as based on Wynwood, Miami’s mural district; we covered it in the news on the interview.
  • Southside: one Ultimate Edition item sends you to raid the compound of “one of Southside Vice City’s loudest and most socially active gangs”.
  • Shore Drive and Shore Court: the Xbox listing for the Vintage Vice City Pack invites you to cruise Shore Drive in the ‘55 Vapid Stanier and keep it in the Shore Court garage, “just a stone’s throw from the glistening sands of Ocean Beach”.
  • Washington Beach: the Ultimate Edition’s Shitzu Squalo is “docked at Washington Beach”. Rockstar doesn’t say which region that’s in; in 2002’s Vice City it was a district of the city.
  • Ocean View Hotel: the name appears in the alt text of an official Vintage Vice City Pack image, with Jason and Lucia armed outside the entrance, and you can read it on the sign in the screenshot below.

Anyone who played the 2002 game will recognize half of that list: Ocean Beach, Washington Beach and the port (then Viceport) were already there. The comparison between the two Vice Citys covers the rest.

The rest of the city’s street-level geography you’ll find on fan wikis, from Downtown to Starfish Island, has no Rockstar source yet. The Miami parallels (Ocean Beach for South Beach, Little Cuba for Little Havana) are obvious, but only one is spelled out in print, in the Dazed piece: Stockyard for Wynwood.

The Vice City zone page gathers the points marked on the interactive map.

Leonida Keys

The official site calls the Leonida Keys a “tropical archipelago” where life “isn’t flashy but it’s easy”, right “on the doorstep of some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in all of America”. The character bios tie them to Jason, who works for local drug runners, and to Brian Heder, a drug runner “from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys” who still moves product through his boat yard.

No island or town in the Keys has an official name. You can read signs in the screenshots (the beach bar in one official image is The Rusty Anchor), but a sign names a business, not a place. The Keys zone page is where to follow them on the map.

Grassrivers

The official Grassrivers page is titled “Welcome to the Wetlands” and calls the region “the untamable jewel of Leonida’s crown”. No settlement here has a name either, but one of the page’s four images says something about geography.

Past the water tower sits the Vice City skyline: Rockstar says so in the image’s alt text, which puts the swamp and the city in the same frame. Official screenshot © Rockstar Games.

The Grassrivers zone page collects the points marked so far.

Port Gellhorn

“This is Leonida’s forgotten coast”: that’s how the site introduces Port Gellhorn, a once-popular vacation spot of cheap motels, shut-down attractions and empty strip malls, where the new economy runs on “malt liquor, painkillers, and truck stop energy drinks”. It’s one of the few names already visible in December 2023’s Trailer 1, on local police vehicles according to the fan breakdown reported by Dexerto, and it returns in Trailer 2 on the sign behind the sunset dirt-bike chase.

Its spot on the northwest coast is an inference from the Florida Panhandle, not something Rockstar has said. The Port Gellhorn zone page places it there until the real map arrives.

Ambrosia

Ambrosia is the only region besides Mount Kalaga with a stated position: “in the heart of Leonida”, where “American industry and old school values still reign supreme, whatever the cost”. The copy also names its landmark: the Allied Crystal sugar refinery “provides the jobs, while the local biker gang provides almost everything else.”

It’s a detail you only catch if you know the real Florida: burning cane fields before harvest is standard practice in the sugar belt around Lake Okeechobee. Official screenshot © Rockstar Games.

The Ambrosia zone page collects the points marked on the map.

Mount Kalaga

Mount Kalaga National Park is the only place Rockstar pins to a compass point: the northern border. The copy promises “prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails” (see hunting and fishing), and in “the lush surrounding backwoods, hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals live far from the prying eyes of the government.” The listing for the ‘67 Vapid Dominator Buggy returns to the same landscape: a ride for “the backwoods of Mount Kalaga and beyond”.

Terrain like this doesn’t exist in the real Florida, whose highest point is barely over 100 meters: it’s where Leonida takes the most liberty with its model. Official screenshot © Rockstar Games.

The Mount Kalaga zone page is the starting point for following it on the map.

Official names with no address

Rockstar has named a few places without saying which region they’re in. They’re the ones most often misquoted, because every fan map pins them with total confidence.

Lake Leonida deserves an extra line: real Florida has a huge lake in the middle, Okeechobee, and fans place Leonida’s lake next to Ambrosia by analogy. It’s plausible, but it’s still an analogy. Outside the state there’s just one name: Liberty City, where Lucia and her mom lived before Leonida, according to Lucia’s official bio.

Counties: a layer Rockstar has never named

The six regions aren’t counties, and the word “county” doesn’t appear anywhere in the official copy. Yet an administrative layer exists, because you can see it on screen.

Some wikis also list a sixth county tied to Ambrosia: it has no Rockstar source, in text or on screen.

Leaks and fan maps: what we don’t adopt, and why

Community wikis list dozens of towns, islands and neighborhoods with names and positions. Part of that comes from files stolen from Rockstar in 2022, part from the mapping groups that line up trailer frames and screenshots to redraw the state.

Community-made concept map of Leonida, with the regions labeled on a Florida-shaped landmass

The GTA VI Mapping Community’s concept map: a fan reconstruction, not a Rockstar document. The coastline and road work is careful, but every label that doesn’t appear in official material is a bet, including where the six regions sit. Concept map by Yanis (GTA VI Mapping Community), speculative.

Using this guide with the map and tracker

The interactive map marks the six regions in approximate positions, each with a zone page that collects its points of interest: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. Most of the current points are demo placeholders. Real data lands from November 19, 2026, and every collectible you tick off in the tracker stays saved.

The location entries in the wiki cover what official material shows of each region. The news on the confirmed regions lines them all up in one go.

Frequently asked questions

How many regions does the GTA 6 map have?

Six, the ones with a page on the official site: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. The game may well contain more, but Rockstar hasn’t shown any.

What are the counties in Leonida?

Rockstar has never listed them. Trailer 1 shows Kelly County, Vice Dale and Leonard County on police vehicles. The map leaked in August 2026 adds two more, Lummox and Mariana, but the GTA 6 Mapping Project judged it fake in an early analysis.

Which Vice City neighborhoods are official?

Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, Stockyard and Southside, plus the Tisha-Wocka flea market and the VC Port, all named on Rockstar’s site. Bayside is named out loud in the Extended Look and Vice Beach is lettered on a police car in an official screenshot, but neither appears in the text.

Are Vice Beach and Vice City the same place?

Not quite, but Rockstar hasn’t explained it. An official screenshot shows a “Vicebeach Police” cruiser in a scene Rockstar’s text places in Vice City: Vice Beach seems to sit inside the region with its own police force, the way Miami Beach sits next to Miami. It stays an interpretation until the map is out.

Where are Watson Bay and Lake Leonida?

Nobody knows yet. Rockstar named them in the Ultimate Edition listings (the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, One-Eyed Willie’s mod shop in Lake Leonida) without saying which region they’re in. The positions you’ll see online come from fan maps.

Is there an official map of Leonida?

No. Rockstar has published the regions with copy and screenshots, not a map. What you’ll find online is either a community reconstruction or the map leaked in August 2026, which mapping groups consider fake.

Is Liberty City in GTA 6?

Not as a place you can visit, as far as anything announced goes. The name appears in Lucia’s official bio, because she and her mom lived there before Leonida: it’s the only place outside the state Rockstar has mentioned.
