The manatee is one of the GTA 6 animals Rockstar has named in writing. It appears in the species list of Game Informer’s cover story from late September 2026, which talks about more than 170 species across land, air and sea, chosen from Florida’s real wildlife: next to alligators, flamingos and pelicans are manatees.
In real-world Florida the manatee is an iconic animal: it lives in warm shallow water, canals and near mangroves, and it is protected. In a game set in Rockstar’s version of that state, the waters of the Leonida Keys and the canals of Vice City are the likeliest places to meet one, but that is a deduction, not an announced fact.
Rockstar has not yet shown a manatee in an official screenshot or video: the image on this entry is generated by us in a game style, not an official screenshot. The other documented marine animals are the dolphin, the sea turtle and the eel.
The sea turtle swims over the Leonida Keys reef: Rockstar names it in the official alt text of the scuba screenshot, along with coral, fish and an eel.
